YOUTH MINISTRY
Our youth ministry at Missoula First UMC seeks to provide a safe space for youth of all ages to navigate their faith, serve our communities,
and feel accepted for who they are as a child of God.
We do this through our Nursery, Sunday School,
and Youth Group programs.
NURSERY
Our nursery is staffed by one Nursery Attendant and various volunteers. All of our staff and volunteers are Safe Gatherings certified, meaning they are trained to ensure the highest safety for your children in our ministry. Childcare in our nursery is provided every Sunday from 10 am through the end of worship for children ages 0-5. The nursery is on the main level next to the Sanctuary. If you come in the back door go up the stairs to the first landing and go straight. Turn right in the first hallway. It is the first door on your right. It overlooks the alley. Please be sure to sign your children in at the time of drop-off and sign them out at pick up. Please inform our nursery staff of any dietary, allergy, medical, and other pertinent information about your child. We also ask that you provide diapers or anything else your child may need during their time in the nursery. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at fumcmissoula@gmail.com.
Sunday School
Sunday School is available for children in Pre-K through 5th grade.
Using the Deep Blue curriculum from Cokesbury, we explore various themes and stories from the Bible as we form and understand our faith together. We also spend time learning children's songs and finding ways to act in service to our First UMC and Missoula communities. Sunday School is led by our Youth Director and volunteer staff. Sunday School is during church hours and is currently operating in the nursery.
FUMY
First United Methodist Youth (FUMY). Contact the church office for meeting information.
We play games and explore relevant topics for today's youth. Each month is centered around a particular theme that we explore together through small group discussion and occasionally a service project inspired by the topic. FUMY is led by our Pastor and volunteers. FUMY is open to all Middle School and High School students (6th-12th grade)
